YourLocalSecurity.com is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to the student with the most effective, compelling, and creative ideas to help curb crime in our communities.

Academic Requirements
Incoming freshman:
Applicant must have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale, have taken either the ACT or SAT test and must be a high school or home school senior graduating or earning a GED between January 1, 2013 and July 31, 2013 who will enroll for fall 2013 as a freshman at a two-year or four-year college or university.

Current Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors:
Applicant must have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale, and be enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university between January 01, 2013 and May 31, 2013.

Description of Funds
The recipient will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses including graduate and undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the 2013-2014 academic year. Funds are provided by YourLocalSecurity.com. Payments are issued by YourLocalSecurity.com, made payable to the student’s approved college or university and mailed after July 16, 2013 directly to the accredited college or university last designated by the student.
